The regulation of proteins or should I say dysregulation specifically those proteins that cause type 1 and type 2 diabetes, was the major factor that made me purse a quest for knowledge that has brought me to where I am today. Without a willingness to seek an understanding of my wife’s illness I would have never decided to re-educate and leave the logistics industry but yet here I am now some 8 years later and my passion for science has on intensified with the opportunities that I have been lucky to have been given. My initial protein centric view has been superseded by my passion for RNA after all RNA is the mediator between DNA and Proteins.

Research Focus

I am looking at mRNA stability and the creation of synthetic mRNA elements. These synthetic mRNA elements can be used as a potential therapeutic.
